A micro apartment in an outbuilding of an old tenement house in Krakow’s Podgórze district

Record broken! It turned out that on 15 sq m of space we are able to plan a fully functional apartment for two. In a single-space premises with a separate toilet, accessible directly from the courtyard of an old tenement house in Krakow’s Podgórze district, its height is a huge advantage. Thanks to this, it was possible to design a mezzanine on which the bedroom was located. Under it we have a bathroom (the toilet has been left in the previous place) and a kitchenette. Even the stairs leading to the upper level are multifunctional – there is a lot of storage space in them, but they also serve as seats around the table that folds out from under the steps. The specific arrangement of external openings influenced their original use. The lounge area is located next to the fanlight at the entrance door, because from here there is the best view of the green courtyard.
