The Competition Jury awards the second prize for creating a space conducive to the manifestation of public life
The basic idea of the project is to treat the staircase not only as an element for communication, but as a place for the accumulation of public life. The stairs in the urban context often also serve as a meeting place.
Also important in creating the concept was the reference to the spatial, architectural and urban context of Old Podgórze. This area is characterized by the accumulation of stairs in the urban layout. Among the characteristic elements of Podgórze’s development, one can also distinguish backstreets. The project assumes a combination of the aforementioned, two typical elements of Old Podgórze.
